Green Oaks High School is a high school located at 2550 Thomas E. Howard, Sr. Drive in Shreveport, Louisiana. == History == In 1968, a group of parents and other concerned citizens of the Cooper Road Community felt that the time had come to build a high school that could adequately accommodate the high school population of a rapidly growing community. Before Green Oaks was built, the only high schools available were the Linear Junior-Senior High School that was originally designed to house 760 students in 1961, and Booker T. Washington High School which was across town. By 1967, the population had grown to 1,675. As can be imagined, this situation presented a very crowded and uncomfortable atmosphere in the classrooms as well as in the halls. So, the need for a senior high school was very evident, and thus began the idea for Green Oaks. The building of the new school greatly aided the community and surrounding area. An site located eight miles (13 km) north of the downtown area of Shreveport in the vicinity of the Cooper Road, (now known as Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive) at the corner of Legardy and Prince Valiant Drive was selected to construct the 2.5 million dollar complex. In August, 1971, Green Oaks was opened to 1,260 students in grades 9-12. Traditions at Green Oaks High School includes the annual Soul Bowl(), featuring the Green Oaks Giants and the Booker T. Washington High School〔Booker T. Washington High School (Shreveport, Louisiana)〕 Lions. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Green Oaks High School」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
